One day I will write a real post. That day is not today.

What's new, what's new, what's new....

Hockey socks, hockey skates, hockey gloves, hockey STINK all over my house.....We had this wonderful idea a few years back to turn one of our guest rooms into the "hockey room". A locker room of sorts right next to my dining room! Makes sense of course....that is when your kids are 2 and 5 and 7 and they don't STINK! We most definitely need a back up plan for this....NASTY.

This is what my kids think I mean by "Go hang up your gear"

My brain is tired from thinking about running and training and Boston which is still 6 months away! At work today I caught myself using the phone keypad instead of the adding machine more than once...

Today was pumpkin carving day at school. Each kid was to bring a parent or grandparent or friend if available to help them and the cafeteria turned into a big pumpkin carving party for an hour. I rarely get to do these things at school as I work 30 minutes away so Joe took some time off and showed up for pumpkin carving duty. Apparently, he took this VERY seriously!! I was talking to my friend after work and she said ALL the mom's were jealous of Joe and his ENTIRE bag full of POWER TOOLS!!! Ha! Needless to say, Max has the best pumpkin:)

I chopped my hair off at about my shoulders. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner!! SO much easier.

I believe I will end the week in the high 40's low 50's for mileage. I'm thinkin' I'm only going up from here:) I will do a running post next week.

Getting my bags together to head out of town with Joe this weekend!! I have been looking forward to this for a month! Time for sushi that I didn't buy from the Schwann man and Caribou coffee instead of the gas station brew...Time to relax and lay in bed past 5 am with NOTHING on my agenda! I'm going to be on a cyber detox so quick shoutout to those racing this weekend!! I'll be anxious to read race reports Monday!!

Well, I don't have a hockey room, but I do have a trains room. Notice I did not have a toy room...the entire house is a toy house, grrr!

I am so excited about your weekend away. I KNOW you are going to take full advantage of it. New haircut, happy running wife, Joe is a lucky guy!

Gas station coffee. Boo! Noone should have to suffer through that.

Boston planning. I know what you mean. I still have 6 weeks to fill out for my first draft and my head is spinning trying to fit in all the races I want to do.

40-50 miles and going up. Yes. Pretty soon this will be taper, LOL.

Go Joe for pumpkin carving. I bet Max was a happy boy. Really spoiled swimming with mom, carving with dad:)

Hope you have so much fun this weekend!! Ana Maria is right...happy running wife, new haircut, some new jeans probably...ha...Joe is a lucky man!! I've been running boston training over in my head too. Holy Hockey room...I bet it stinks.

And Gas station coffee...are you serious? :)

Joe sounds like such an amazing dad! Lucky Max! I bet he was so proud.

I'm excited to start building mileage too. I've always stayed pretty low with the mileage but I'm curious how my body will respond if I actually build it up slowly and wisely and stay at an easy pace for a lot of them. I know that getting a TM will make is sooooo much easier and more enjoyable. There will have to be two a days though or I won't be able to do it. Not enough time.

Not every house has a hockey room! Once in a house we rented we had a bike room but no stinking involved.

I'm annoyed with you for not posting a picture of your hair!

I think we are married to the same man. Power tools....lol! That reminds me of the time I told my husband to go buy a vacumme cleaner (for INSIDE the house) and he came home with a shop-vac. He couldn't understand why I was lauging my ass off.

Ooo, I bet that room can smell ripe at times! Hockey players are athletes (which means schweaty EVErYTHING!)

I wanna see your new locks! And, excited to follow your Boston training. Bet, you and Amanda set some weekly mileage records!

You should just admit that these kinds of posts ARE your "real" ones :)

Hope you are having a great weekend with your hubba hubba! I'm sure you are anyway.

Josh played one season of adult rec league hockey when we first started dating (he played when he was a kid). That junk REEKS. It makes sense that you have a hockey room seeing as how your castle has 2 kitchens... ;)

Sushi from the Schwann man... That sure sounds delicious. We only ever bought ice cream from ours.

Have an awesome weekend!
No hockey kids in this house. Just stinky soccer cleats and shorts and swim suits getting moldy because they are still wrapped in a ball in the swim bag.
