Back at it

Well, I think the plague of death has finally passed and I am back to my normal albeit slightly weaker self! Since Monday here are my happenings :)

I actually did head out of the house Monday night and walked a 4 mile loop just to get some fresh air. It was slow and I felt lousy but it was nice to breath in some fresh air. I knew I was done throwing up but I still felt very weak and fatigued.

Tuesday I headed back to work and although I usually run in the morning before work I thought I would give myself a few extra hours and run after work under the street lights in town. I ended up running 8 miles at an 8:04 average. This was pretty much full speed and I was gasping and nauseous at the end. I know I was running on very little fuel as I hadn't eaten anything for 2 days and I was still not near 100% from being sick so I was content with that pace.

Tuesday night was the highlight of my week thus far!! My son Max had his first hockey game of the year. At his level they play in house games every Monday night but only play a few games against other towns. He was soooo excited in the morning and I dropped him off at daycare to practice his floor hockey game! I was sooo excited because I never get to see him play! Reese plays in house on Monday nights at the same time and their other practices always coincide as well. Joe takes Max and I take Reese. Anyway, after my run I rushed to shower and make it to the rink and he was sitting in the locker room with the palest little face ever. Who thought little boys would ever get nervous!! Apparently, he shook it off. OMG-this was the funnest game I have ever watched! Joe told me Max has been doing really well but he actually SHOCKED me. The little guy was all over the place and had 5 of the 8 goals! He was absolutely beaming when he came off the ice and I was so proud of him!

Wednesday I did get up in the morning before work and ran 6 on the treadmill. I was planning on hitting the fitness center in the evening while the kids were at open hockey to do a weight workout. I came home from work and all the kids and Joe were home and we decided to skip open hockey AND the fitness center and all hang out in the family room! It was well worth it and I think I still needed a little extra rest.

Today I'm heading outdoors (beautiful temps 23 degrees but 22 mph winds ughh!) I am hoping for 10 and probably 14-15 tomorrow for my long run. Then I have to pack for the rest of the day! Ryan and Joe are heading on a charter bus to Lakeville, MN (7 hours away) for a BIG tournament. All the teams represented here are VERY good! I would desperately love to go to this but I am taking Reese and Max to Grand Rapids and Cloquet (4.5 hours away) for games which will obviously be fun as well. $180 for charter bus, $190 for hotels in the cities, $220 for hotels in Grand Rapids, $50 tournament gate fees, $100 for my gas. I've told the kids they will have to survive on water and bananas for the weekend.

So, this mess of words was my week so far! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Glad you are feeling better. I hate stomach bugs!!!! Few things are worse in my book. We are having warmer temps here, too, up to Monday. Looking forward to finishing a run without a frozen butt!
