347 pictures on my phone....
Too much sun?? It's winter?? No idea where my excruciatingly painful looking sunburn came from.
I may or may not be a 13 year old at heart and had to be put in a little "time out" after taking this xray of an implant. A tooth implant.....My 14 year old boss was also in "time out"....
All sweaty and nasty after a long run with my dad! We like to dress alike....And really, how cool is it when your dad runs marathons!!
I'm going to keep this kid, even if she's a monkey:)
My pouty faced boy who knows he generally gets his way with this sad puppy dog face.
Minnesota fun and seriously the HARDEST workout ever. This machine is amazing.
Yes mom, I would love to pose for a picture.
Training:
*I am running. I am running quite a bit and I'm running fairly well.
*I've been spending the mornings that Ryan has early morning hockey practice in the gym while I wait for her. Not running at the gym, just trying to ensure that I will be able to continue to run by keeping the rest of my body strong....
*I have been blessed with some AMAZING weather overall this winter for Minnesota. That being said, I am heading out the door here in -6 F/-21 C here in about 5 minutes. My bottom line for outdoor running is generally -5F but honestly I just can't do the treadmill today. This is the coldest temp I have run in since 2010 so we'll see how it goes:)
*I've become extremely flexible with my plan based on when and where I can fit runs in. There are pros and cons to many of my decisions and changes but I'm a recreational runner with 3 kids.
*The only race I am registered for in 2012 is Boston. I would love a HM prior to Boston and then I am making no plans until after April 16th.
I occasionally spell out my training. For the week thus far:
Monday: 9.73 miles outside/8:31 pace-recovery easy run. Gym-glutes, some plyo and core
Tuesday: 13.1 total: AM-4 miles treadmill/8:44 pace. PM-9.1 miles pm/7:47 with 4X6 min. at 6:52 (headwind), 6:28 (tailwind), 6:47 (headwind), 6:26(tailwind). Goal pace was 6:35 but this was HARD and I was gasping in the wind. P90X abripper with my husband before I went to bed.
Wednesday: 10 miles easy/recovery TM/8:34 pace. Gym-arms and shoulders and 15 minute spin
Thursday: light abs in the morning but unscheduled rest day as I went out for Pizza and out to a big HS hockey game with my family and some friends.
Today: potentially 2 miles, potentially 15 miles depending on how fast my fingers fall off or whether or not my eyelashes freeze together and blind me......
I'm MIA in blogworld, this I know. I am MIA on facebook, I am MIA at book club and Friday morning coffee.... I am fortunately still IA as a hockey mom, a runner, and a wife but clinging clinging some days...Seasons....
Happy running! Wish I was in Houston tomorrow!

Thank you for occasionally spelling out your training. Super job there! As if the gym wasn't enough you are putting me to shame with your abripper X. I don't own that DVD, but want it :). Seriously a great ab workout. The repeats are really stellar Jenn, especially with wind. I find that if it's uphill or windy, it is so hard to come close to a pace- then it wipes me out for the ones where there is no wind or hill.
THe photos...they are growing up! That Ryan photo, she seems to be saying "Mom. I love you."
or maybe "I am going to rip your hair out"lol
Houston- I wish I was there too!
OK, MIA from Friday morning coffee? Sacrilage! I thought you just got some good Starbucks, dark and bold...
Love that pic of Max. Yes, little boys pouting get their ways...Hope he is feeling better.
I hope you know the trials are broadcasted on NBC 3-5 (yes, with delay). V excited
You are running super well. And the strength you are doing on top of that is awesome. I love, love strength. Never thought I would ever say this. I am looking forward to getting to the point where I could do plyos safely. I just watched a video of Shalane F and her plyo routine. Wow!
Something tells me you ARE going to run 15 today:)
And do me a favor....have some cofee! Makes everything much better, as you know!
As a mom, our children know that those awfully cute pouty faces break our heart every time! www.dashingdiva.net
Ahahahahaha to the dental implant picture!!!
I recently received some bootlegged P90X stuff. Did the yoga. Arms hurt like hell the next day! Will have to check out the core stuff after my marathon.
Your kids are super cute!!
so glad to hear an update! I have a similar workout today...boo...4 x 5min ugh. I don't want to go. HELP!. anyway..I'm off. hang in there..you're BUSY but doing SO great!! xxx
Love the phone pictures. I try to go through mine every month or so and just keep the good ones...the funny ones...the what the heck was going on there?? ones...so pretty much>>>I keep them all :p
there you are!
I was wondering if you had quit on us...
marathon running dad! that is pretty cool!!!! I love the matching outfit!
Do what you can! You are one busy lady. Stay sane in all aspects of your life.
So good to see an update! I think I have more photos still on my phone... and I'm up to almost 7000 emails that need to be deleted on one of my email accounts :P
Your running looks pretty awesome. Flexibility is so key when you have such a full life!
Can you tell I don't check blogs much lately. One of these days I'll try to catch up but really glad I didn't miss this. You maybe be MIA in a lot of the things you used to be active in but you're keeping up with the things that are most important and this counts big time. You will get back to the other stuff...to everything there is a season. This is your season to cut some things off and those that matter won't mind. Sounds like you are really strong with your training Jenn. Makes me wish I could be a fly on the wall when you are doing your gym stuff so that I could learn from you. I used to do plyos in college and I really should get back to them in the gym but for now lots of planks, push ups, lunges, reverse lunges etc. Things I can do at home. I suppose I can do some jumps without the stands to jump up on. ;)
Your kids...so beautiful as always. So lucky to have you as a mom. And that x-ray picture...you made my day when you sent that. And your nose so bright...you can lead my sleight tonight. :)
What is that, a giant skating treadmill? That's awesome!
Love the monkey hat! Each one of my family members has one, well, animal hats. So much fun.
That picture was priceless!!! Thanks for sharing! I love your blog...it is motivating and inspring! I am also a mother of 3...boys, and I am slowly recovering from a recent hip surgery...anxious to start running agin, so thanks for the uplift!
Jets fan....cool
your kids are gorgeous, jenn. You are hardcore to run in that weather and your training is just as hardcore. Enjoy your boston training!
It's sooo cool that your dad runs marathons! My dad runs halfs, but I think that's only because my mom runs halfs and he'd feel left out...Now my mom runs marathons, but for some reason my dad doesn't feel left out there...
Your training sounds awesome! Even your recoveries are fast!
enjoyed the family snapshots. and always love to read about the training. seems we've all been a little "hit or miss" lately, but I always enjoy catching up with you.
take care Jenn!
So glad to gear things are going well. Love the pics...you have the cutest kiddos! It's okay to be MIA...we'll be here!
its been 2 weeks almost since this post
let me help you by tagging you!
That's an awesome looking skating machine. I had no idea that sort of thing existed.
