Marathon Take 2

OK-I'm trying take 2 on a very quick pre-marathon post! I was so tired when I typed my last one and it was SO poorly written that I pulled the plug on it.

Simple version. I'm running a marathon on Sunday. The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. LOVE the course, LOVE the atmosphere, LOVE the expo and the race shirt and gear is Brooks which I also LOVE!!! This is a fantastic marathon, touted as the most beautiful Urban marathon in America. The crowd support is as awesome and the race is VERY efficient with 2 start corrals and fantastic water stops. I LOVE this race and I'm excited just thinking about stepping out of the Metrodome on race morning and lining up in the first corral with my hubby and my sister!!!

I have moved on from planning possible strategies in my head when in all reality I just can't know what will happen right now when I really start to run so I'm concentrating on the more important parts of the race like which top will make my boobs look bigger......

Ok-decided to pull the two pictures I just posted. Let's just say this Brooks racing tank really isn't designed to accentuate those areas....

So, back to the marathon. Yes, Sunday morning 8:00 am. Online tracking provided HERE and my bib # is 1254. I'm in a super great place about this race right now. Content and ready for what it brings me. Things feel pretty good physically this week, I'm feeling some confidence about the flat sections of the race. Fitness wise, I've lost some, this I know, but I STILL think I may have a good enough base to run a 3:20 or better if my butt says YES. If not, I will STILL be OK!!! Going to give it my very best shot!

Good luck to my sister Laurie, who is out for a fun run- thinkin' maybe 8:20 pace since she hasn't really been marathon training, my Dad who is a HUGE inspiration to me especially with his attitude, my husband who has run a total of 22 miles in the last 5 weeks combined due to a cranky shin but is WAY more concerned about me and MY race than himself (I'm so damn lucky) and my little peanut Reese's Pieces who's going to run the 5K!!!!! Looking forward to a fantastic weekend of family and fun!!

Best of luck to everyone else running this weekend. Catch you on the flipside:)

Did you post the last one recently?? yikes, I miss so much these days with my stupid method of reading blogs. How do I subscribe via e-mail??? I'm loving hearing this Jenn. Makes me so happy and EXCITED to track you on Sunday. I'll have my phone with me in church. Actually, you'll probably already be done by the time I go to church. This answers my question about your sister. Love it...easy pace 8:20. sheesh. Love you! Good luck! Go get em! And hope you get my card before you leave.

You and your butt are going to have one SUPER race day!!

I am going to track you, of course! I wonder if that stupid pre-pay phone I have will let me do that. Ha!! I can't wait to see how you do. Really really glad to read that you are in a great place mentally. You SHOULD be. You put in all the miles when it counted- and then some.

Bummer about the race outfit! I guess I will have to be surprised. Maybe it's a cape or bunny ears or something :) With the Brooks logo of course...

Praying for you and hoping your whole family has a super race day together!

Wow, now it's less then 2 days away! Whooee how the summer flew by. So hopefully this race isn't a pain in the butt for you and you have feelings of awesomeness and speed. I think that with some of the extra rest that you've gotten that you are going to show up to that line rested and ready to kick some booty. For sure you have at least a 3:20 in you. Honestly I think that you are an amazingly head strong woman that has more speed in your legs then you may think, and I think some of this speed will be unleashed on Sunday. Your head seems to be in the best place here with low expectations, but girl YOU ARE GOING TO BLOW THOSE LOW EXPECTATIONS OUT OF THE WATER!!!!

Have fun and when the road gets challenging remind yourself of how AWESOME you are and that you have the STRENGTH to press pass any challenge. Run like the wind my friend!
