Not dead, just kidnapped by sunshine:)

So-I am not dead. I FEEL dead today and I think I smell like a dead body after sweating to death all afternoon on the beach but NOPE, not dead. I have been really absent lately but the two weeks of summer we get in Minnesota can do that to a person! Also, the fact that I've had a normal family this week with my husband home!! I could try to organize here but instead I'm resorting to my typical format of unproofed unorganized pictures and thoughts.

*Had a great 4th of July weekend!

(seriously don't know how this girl next to Reese could be wearing black tights in over 90 degrees. I considered running naked it was so hot)

*Ran a 5K with my daughter Reese. This was a tough race for her with the heat but still ended up a good day as the 3 runners in this family all came home with AG medals. A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd:)

*Officially started my marathon training plan on Monday-the 4th. I was SUPER excited to actually start this! I'm using a modified Hudson plan that tops out in the low 70's.

*Almost through week one which will net me 61 miles mostly at easy pace. Good stuff starts next week:)

*I'm back to running early mornings which I LOVE in the summer. Winter, not so much but summer, just starts my day off right!!!!

We are heading out on a little family trip leaving on Sunday! I'm so excited to have some time with my kids doing stuff like this:

I will also get opportunity to run this again:

Instead of my typical this:

And to be truly random a picture from mile 20 of my marathon. Yes, I'm walking and yes, this is one of my better moments:) Death captured on camera....(and why is this guy in the cotton t-shirt beating me....perhaps because he's still running and I'm WALKING)

That's a wrap! Seriously off to catch up with some of you here while I lay on the floor typing and my husband (aka cheap massage therapist) tries to murder me by working on my right hamstring! Have a great weekend:)

the heat, I hate it, you know, I saw your stopped by, thank you for the comment.
I just want a day below 100, that is not too much to ask right?
for my next race on the 23rd would be great timing for a cool 85 or something.

Your family is too cute! WTG on sweeping the podium at the race. Woo hoo!!!

Boo to the chubby guy passing you. Don't ya hate that? Evan asked me why so many old men were ahead of me during my marathon. Thanks, kid.

Congrats to the family full of age-group victors! Awesome! Racing in the heat... ugh. Just shoot me.

I wish my husband would play massage therapist and kill my right hamstring! You know you're lucky, right?

Hum...it LOOKS like you're heading out to Colorado and vacationing in my state, the slim state (you'll fit right in, unlike myself!)...I can't wait to see you next week!!! :) Oh how I wish - hopefully one of these days soon (that means within a year you know!).

Congrats to the fantastic Strand family and their amazing 1st, 2nd and 3rd age group placement. You guys ROCK and way to show black tights in 90 degree weather girl how it's done!

Eat up your two weeks of sunshine, winter is on the horizon in Northern Minnisota I hear and I know you're eagerly awaiting to run the ditch trail in the snow, but patience Chica...now it's time to enjoy the 90s!

awww, summer fun! I wish I was there with you! So wonderful. I've been out all evening so this might be short and probably will make no sense but I'll be back! :) So great that you guys get to go on a family vacation...this picture of you...you and Joe look like such a team...so strong! And this Hudson plan...don't know if I'm cut out for it..sounds high mileage...but I'll research the book...I do need another plan because this brain training one is sooooo long and I don't have that in me. ;) Okay, more tomorrow! xo

Nice mileage at week 1! Wish I had the same vigor for early morning running as you do.

Your summer looks like it has been busy so far, but amazing. Hope that family trip is too much fun for words. Oh and that is some serious elevation, yikes.

Who does that cotton tee guy think he is passing you like that? Doesn't he know that cotton tees are so the 90's???

Oh and I'm constantly amazed by how awesome Reese is. Whooey! She is awesome!

welcome to summer!

I'm slightly jealous that your marathon training begins at 61 miles. You continue to amaze. As for me, I will finish with 25 miles this wk. I hope to join you as I slowly move back up.

congrats on the AG sweep. Nice! Fun times and fun memories!

I hear you on the 2 weeks of summer. Same thing here. This past week has been gorgeous, not so much for running, but gorgeous nonetheless. Love the pics, gorgeous family. And please can you stop being so hard on yourself. I think you will have to run that marathon again so to get over it (like me with Boston, although your performance at Grandma was way better than mine at Boston 2010, ha!).

Hope you are having an awesome family trip! Will miss our email chats:)

Oh, it's the same temps here in Alabama.... but add in 75% humidity.... and no breeze being in Central Alabama! UGH! Hate running in the summer. So, I haven't been by in a while and wanted to see what you've been up to. You go, girl... you inspire me to keep my slow butt running!
