SHOUTOUTS, SIGNS, and an UPDATE!!

Friday! A lot of stuff I want to cover in a short amount of time here! First of all, I'm extending the MOTHER OF ALL THANKYOUS to all of you who caught my last post and offered me encouragement surrounding the situation. I removed the post out of concern that a student or teacher would see it but even after removing it, I received so many thoughtful emails!!!! In a nutshell, the situation has been resolved. My SIL is an attorney, I appreciate the tips we received from her on how to proceed. I was indescribably upset on Wednesday (this is an understatement) and I am VERY thankful for the opportunity to sleep and process my thoughts a little prior to the meeting Thursday morning. Respecting my daughter and taking into consideration her requests and how my actions might affect her changed my tone a bit... I am VERY thankful for my husband and the calm, collected, professional but "no F*CK with me" manner in which he is able to get things taken care of. Apologies and no disciplinary action. We will leave it at that.

Moving on to more interesting things of course unrelated to anything....

*I had a dream last night. I was at a pool watching Ana Maria swim and then get out of the pool and hop on a spin bike and then get back in the pool and swim some more. She was FULLY clothed in a sweater and khaki dress pants. She also NEVER got tired! I'm SO surprised-ha! I have no idea what I was actually doing in this dream -eating popcorn???? I wasn't exercising, I know that, and I have no idea what this dream means. Also, in this same dream I was looking at a list of finishing times on a wall. Amanda was listed with a marathon time next to it. I have written this down and taken a picture with a date because if she actually runs this exact time I will shit a brick. I will also change careers to a that of a phone psychic...

*I had twelve 4th grade girls spend the night here last night for a last day of school slumber party. LOUD SPASTIC children! Glow in the dark night games and hours of Just Dance 2 on the Wii in which MOM may or may not have had a difficult time taking turns....The kids finally asked me to butt out. I also found out that my little 10 year old has a boyfriend. This little courtship began on February 7th which was a Monday via text message at the hockey arena. They don't talk but both of them apparently have each others names doodled on their math notebooks. Serious stuff here and I LOVE how fourth grade girls LOVE to tell all. 7th grade-not so much!

*I will officially begin my taper today after I attempt one last long run. I will post a taper training schedule in another post soon!

NOW, on to the good stuff!!!! SHOUTOUTS!!!!

Max and I were busy upstairs this morning as the girls were terrorizing the downstairs!!

First on the docket we have Amanda who is running the Newport Marathon tomorrow morning! She has become an extremely dear friend to me over the course of her training cycle and I am just SO excited for her and this experience. I am also SUPER CONFIDENT in her abilities and think she is going to seriously KICK ASS in this race!!!!! Anyway, I'm recycling a previous sign because WHY NOT, and I'm also including a new one! I am super bummed I can't actually track her or better yet be there, but I will be watching my watch, holding my signs, and thinking of HER all morning!

This second sign isn't very clear so you probably have to click on it. I also put special care into my appearance this morning as you can see-bahahah!

Next, Max punched out a few signs while I was busy eating Janae's cinnamon rolls that I made for the girls.

Raina just because she is also a GREAT friend and I have followed her Boston training and also her recovery running and just in case she feels like running fast this weekend for any reason whatsoever;) we made her a sign!! Max doesn't really know Raina obviously as she is quite tall and very thin as opposed to short and a bit chubby with an enlarged hand.....

And now to Jill! Jill was one of my first blog peeps and I will always love her! Also, one of the few I've actually had the privilege to meet! She is taking her bike and damaging her girl bits for something like 62 miles this weekend! We know what sometimes happens to Jill when she rides her bike as can be seen in the picture. Ha ha! Let's hope for none of this and just an all around great experience!!!!

And now to Beth, SUAR who is doing the Longmont Sprint Tri. Beth recovered this past year from the same injury as me and we conversed via email about how rolling on computer chairs and drinking wine and crying are JUST as fun as training for the Boston marathon. I absolutely love her and her blog which EVERYONE reads already! I better be sure this next picture doesn't make it into the yearbook or I will have my children taken away from me. Yes, my son wrote "Don't be a Pussy" and as you can see Beth is ahead of the gray haired pussy posse in her race!!

And finally Stephanie who is running a 20K! A great mom with a great blog who's out to run a great race!! I'm sorry Stephanie. I have no idea what this face on my son means. I think it means you're tough and you're going to run well!!!

So, we have no energy left and Joe and Reese, my own family will not be having signs at their 5K tomorrow! I will also be sipping a Starbucks and watching this race from a lawn chair! This sounds SO appealing right now!! Have a great weekend!!!! Good luck to ALL!

Your son is a stud! I love the signs. Best of luck to your fam for tomorrow's 5k. Sitting in a lawn chair sipping a nice warm latte is a nice change for a Saturday morning, God bless a taper.

Jenn, YOU are the BEST ever!!

Thank you so much....really not sure what context I will attempt to run fast, but kinda wish it was going to be in Newport with Amanda, going for the oyster shooters. !!! Really excited for her :) (like I need something to make me puke!) Not sure about those dreams, but they are HILARIOUS!!

Best wishes to all racers!!

Max,
I LOVE your sign, dude! That is pretty doggone close to what I really look like these days, too..(back to normal weight now, Jenn). :) The trees are a nice touch, since it's kind of forested here. My Boys would love to play with you. If we ever meet, bring your nerf gun!!!

I am no Freud, so I won't go into dream interpretations, ha! I don't even wear khakis and I never overdress at the pool (I wear close to nothing at the outdoor pool:). Nice to be in your dream, though:)

So glad that things worked out with Ryan. And very smart of you to take a step back and think about how everything will affect Ryan. I hope she is OK:)

Amanda's time....hm, maybe I will make a prediction myself...she will kick it, she's got fire in her belly.

Taper for you and it seems like you are ready. Yes, shed the fatigue and you'll be negative splitting the marathon and running faster than you think!

Max is such a cutie. I love his signs! Very special and v sweet of you both.

Have a relaxing weekend with the family, Jenn!

Missed your post and missed my sign!!!! But I think I will do another Marathon in Oct so maybe I will get a second chance at a sign.

But I figure you were a little busy with family issue's. Hope you deal well with the taper...don't go postal...focus on happy thoughts.....

Okay, I am speechless. That your son wrote "pussy" has made my entire year. You need to move closer to me so we can hang out all the time. I am dying laughing. And I am also just glad I am kicking some pussy posse ass in that poster.

Thanks for the shout out. I will make your son proud.

Your dream proabbly means that AM is a complete badass and none of us could ever keep up with her, so we might as well sit back and eat popcorn while watching her shred it up.

So glad the 'situation' was resolved. That's one strong little girl you have. You should be (and I know you are!) proud. And so should she!!

Your boy is so sweet for making all those signs.

Happy Taper!

Love the signs. Love the support bloggers show for one another! Jill is awesome. I'm looking forward to getting to meet her myself come August.

glad everything worked out! Great signs and you are so right about 4th grade vs. 7th grade. Parent teacher conferences at my school the parents are always wondering why their kids don't talk to them anymore and we have to tell them that they are certainly not the only ones. It's a tough time, but sounds like you've got a stellar 7th grader!
