Christmas and week one down....

So, I hope you all had an unbelievable Christmas. I am just now catching up with everyone so I'm sure to read about it soon! I absolutely LOVE Christmas!! Not for the presents, not for the food, but for my family. I'm the oldest of 6 girls (my very best friends) and our lives are SO busy we can rarely connect all together. Christmas is the ONE time a year that we can just lay on my parent's living room floor and yap about whatever comes to mind! This year was no exeption and I had the MOST wonderful time! My kids also had a fantastic time hanging out with their cousins, playing hockey with Grandpa, and watching movies with their lazy mom and aunties!!!! All in all-a perfect Holiday!

My son and my husband are out icefishing this morning. Yes, they sit in a little house on the middle of a lake, drill a hole through the ice with an auger and stick a pole down there in hopes of catching Walleye! The fun just never ends up here!!! Anyway, I am a huge supporter of this as I LOVE fish, especially Walleye( a very mild white fish -TDF)! It is like $13 a pound or something in the grocery store. Buying it in the grocery store is SO much more expensive than catching it yourself say the men around here.......Somehow boys fail to factor in the cost of the ice house, rods, ATV to pull the ice house, bait, etc. Ha-I love to give Joe a hard time but then again Boston wasn't the cheapest trip.....

Tonight I'm having 30 people over for a Christmas party. This sounded like such a great idea at the time and now it just sounds like A LOT of work! I'm already full and I have like zero desire to clean my bathrooms right now! I have a small boy with bad aim...It is not optional to clean these.....I will pull this off and the party will be a blast.

To the running....I just completed week one of my 10 mile training plan. Sometimes I'm a little hard on myself and beat myself up about not getting everything done exactly how I planned-actually most of the time....This week I'm patting myself on the back and officially calling myself a ROCKSTAR! I was very busy and I had to make a couple of tweeks with Christmas and time constraints but I did it and I'm actually pretty darn proud of myself!

Total miles-61. I completed every run and every workout I had planned for the week and it totally made my off day on Christmas SO enjoyable! I get such a great sense of satisfaction from making things work sometimes and it really is worth the hour less of sleep or the trips to work with soaking wet hair and no makeup!! It's also worth the freedom to eat a whole bunch of junk on Christmas day and not have a panic attack as a result!!

Hope you are all having a great Holiday season. I was going to leave you with a picture but once again my INTERNET is being a royal PITA!!! Libby will have to show you her latest pose in my next post! Later

61 miles, congrats! Are you training for a 10 miler? I know you were trying to decide btw a half or a 10 miler! You are going to rock it! How awesome about Joe taking little Max out for "man" things! And I feel your pain about the bathrooms...my little one is lucky if he aims in the toilet half of the time:) Have fun at the party!

Congrats on 13 years of marriage!

Sounds like a great time with your family. So how many grandkids are there? I am the oldest of 5 (I have all brothers though) and yesterday we were all together with all our families and like you, I just love it!

Great job getting all your runs in!

You ARE a Rockstar Jenn! At least in my book...always! ;) Ice fishing....this is hilarious...you mean it really happens and not just in the movies. :) So fun! Such a different world than over here in Oregon. :) And good luck with that huge dinner party...see, you are a rockstar!

Oh my goodnesss! It's JUST like "Grumpy Old Men"!!! Haha! I watched that movie the other night and I wondered if you all did any ice fishing. Hahhahahaha! I love it. I'd encourage Jon to because I love fish too. I have never had walleye though.

We need to work on these boys. My oldest won't wake up from sleep to use the can and I have to drag him in there before we go to bed. Then it ends up like a fire hose- all over the place!! My next goal is to teach him and his brothers to use a clorox kleenup around the spray zone.

You got in some GREAT miles, girl. Beat my sorry butt this last week!! Keep up the hard work =D

oh- and before i forget. Stick with your earlier predicition- whatever it was. I am not convinced i can keep those paces yet!

Ice fishing -- gives new meaning to a hole you throw money down.

well those costs aren't factored into the cost of the fish. just like how running is a cheap sport with no expenses, duh! :)

i'm sure your son will love to stumble upon this blog post in 10 years and find that you discussed his pee aim for all the world to see.

okay, I just e-mailed you and now I'm back to reread your post until you post again. :) So, you do jillian's Shred video right? how do you like it? Do you still do it with your daughter? I just got it but not sure....should I start at level 1? Does it give you a good workout and do you notice results??
