Quick update and weekend news!

WAY behind in the blog world here! Weekend was SO fun but SO busy! I'm officially FULL!

Thanksgiving was awesome with my sisters and parents. I LOVE big family gatherings. My mom is a GREAT cook and there was SO much food! Really wish it would have worked out with my schedule to run the 5K on Saturday because then perhaps I would have paced myself better with dessert....Oh well-I suppose you have to overindulge every now and again (at least that is what I'm telling myself)!

Ryan and Reese both had hockey tournaments this weekend-all day Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday but in the same city for once!!!! Eight total games and a 15 hour day at the rink on Saturday. I revamped my week to have Saturday off from running instead of Wednesday. I should have run on Saturday.....WAY too many Skittles and popcorn consumed! Anyway, Reese's team won the tournament! She played just great and came off the ice with the biggest beaming smile! Ryan's team also did great winning 3 of their 4 games. Unfortunately, she is REALLY under the weather and feeling just terrible right now. I never seem to have 3 healthy kids at the same time...

I had a pretty low mileage easier effort running week. I was prepared for that at the beginning of the week.

TOTAL MILES: 38.4

Monday-4 miles easy- snow and blizzard conditions but the temp was not too cold!

Tuesday-9 miles total ( 2 miles easy, 5@HM tempo (35:53/7:10) 2 miles easy)

Wednesday - 6 miles easy outside 8:17

Thursday - 5 miles easy-didn't even record the pace when I pulled the plug on the treadmill

Friday - 4.25 miles 7:31

Saturday
- off

Sunday - 10.4 miles 8:04

Went to the gym for 2 weight workouts and did the Shred level 2 once. I just stuck with a basic pushup situp routine in the mornings. I'm gonna have to hammer down here at some point!

So- I have yet to run today and better get to that! I also have about a million posts to comment on here! Don't worry, I haven't stopped reading but it's hard to comment on a tiny little cell phone!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Thanksgiving morning!

CONGRATS TO REESE!

You are really smoking on those runs. Your easy pace is faster than mine =D I predict a HUGE PR when you get into a race. Darn..I was hoping to see a RR from you, too!! Maybe a Jingle bell run?

SO happy you had a great Thanksgiving with your mom and sisters. Ours turned out pretty good too- sunday when it finally happened. :P

Take it easy at work!

Too bad about the 5k, but the beauty of those is that you can find one any time:) Happy you had a great Tg. Love the pics:)

congrats on the tournament win! but seriously? 15 hours of hockey in one day...i don't think i could handle it. you are a super-mom!

good work on the workouts, even though i know it was a low-key week for you...to me it would have been full-on training mode to get anywhere close to your numbers. way to be!

Nice work this week! Don't worry about the mileage, they looked like quality runs ;)
Congrats to Reese! Very, very cool! Sounds like you're one busy lady! Have a great week!

What a nice Thanksgiving it sounds like you had! Congrats to the kids!

Skittles and popcorn? sheesh... I ate 3/4 of a whole entire full-sized cheesecake over the weekend! That probably has at least a little to do with why you are so much faster of a runner than me ;-)

Your workout recap is really inspirational!

GO REESE!!! That is awesome. Girl, you need to indulge a little more often! Great workouts for a holiday week. I am so glad that you had fun with your sisters!!! I love the pictures, you really are gorgeous! I hope you get your Christmas list and yes you are kind of a freak for loving to run in the cold...okay that is just my jealousy shining through. Did you end up yelling at Jillian tonight?

Good God, girl...can't you just have a really slow run, like in the 10's or 35's, just to make my pathetic 9's look good?? :)

Everytime I read about your hockey tournaments, I think about your whole white coat fiasco from last year. I don't know why that's stuck in my head. Ha.

Sounds like a great weekend! Congrats to both Reese & Ryan! Their teams did great!

I agree with you, it's okay to indulge once in a while, and Thanksgiving, when you're with family and friends, is the best time to do it!

Congrats, Reese! :)
I give you hockey moms a ton of credit, and I know my turn will come someday. (With how much my boyfriend and I are obsessed with hockey, odds are good at least one of our future children will play!)
And thanks for keeping me inspired to get outside and run! It's cold and snowy here in the UP now, and reading your posts reminds me that those won't kill me but will only make me stronger. :)
