Completely Disorganized Thought Accompanied by Pictures!

So-this morning my daughter had hockey practice at 5:45 am. This actually works out well because I can drop her at practice and then head to the gym while my other two kids are sleeping. I don’t work on Tuesdays so I save my running for later and do a weight workout in the morning. Today was no different except I was in a bit of a hurry to get through the shower and make myself presentable for 8:30 am dentist appts. I remembered as I hopped in the shower that I had once again forgotten to stop and buy shampoo. There are 3 girls in this house with LONG hair and we have been out of shampoo and conditioner for 3 days but I can’t seem to remember to pick it up. Unfortunately I had to resort to rummaging through this!

A little background here. My husband travels a lot for work and spends many nights in a hotel. He is not “cheap” per se…. perhaps “thrifty “ is a better word. (By thrifty I mean he has not yet resorted to numbering the toilet paper sheets …..) Anyway, he feels some sort of entitlement to what is rightfully "his" and has an obsession with hotel gratuities because he “paid” for them. And yes, that is a shower cap on top. Seriously, who takes the shower cap. Ahhh-I love him! Anyway, in my rummaging I grabbed this instead of conditioner

D*mmit, they need to label these better!

A little off subject but I packed my son one of these in his lunch to go with his apples today.

Hmmmm-wonder where that came from (continental breakfast perhaps...)

Anyway, backtracking a bit here because I like to be very organized in my writing and make sure to write everything in chronological order....After my treadmill long run on Sunday, I was bound and determined to get outside for a short recovery run yesterday. The weather was gorgeous (hint of sarcasm) and I couldn't wait to get out there!

BEFORE

Zero visibility and blowing snow but not yet bitter cold by MN standards so it was fun to get out in it since I had absolutely no pace goal. Didn't even wear a watch actually, just 14 layers of clothes whichexplains why I look like I a huge black snowman!!!

AFTER

I have no idea what posessed me to pose for a pic like this. Snow all the way up my shirt. Completely uncomfortable...

For those who were wondering, I wear these on my shoes on ice but if at all possible I try to go without them and run down the center of a desolate highway that they plow and salt to keep the ice off.

My picture happy post is now over since the kids are getting off the bus! I will be back to read and comment tonight! Have a good one!

i have yet to give in and get those grip-things for my shoes. i fell down twice last year...i should probably do something about that....

i have such a hard time dragging myself to the store for one or two items. there has to be a long list. so i have been known to go without shampoo/contact solution/sponges for days...

that is a lot of snow! wowza!

SNOW ANGELS!!! Very fun!
I have to laugh at all the hotel freebies, I do that too just because you can't past airport security nowadays with anything larger - why does it all have to be so difficult??? Why o why! Glad you got your hair conditioned, one way or another ;).

Come by my blog, I'm doing a holiday blog exchange and I hope you can participate!!! :)

now this is some serious snow! Today our schools were canceled due to an inch or two! HA! i guess the issue here is the freezing rain and the dangerous roads but still pretty funny reading blogs from people who know what real snow is all about! :)

I am happy to know that I'm not the only one who collects these hotel "giveaways". Hey we really did pay for them right? There was also a time when we didn't have any cotton buds and soap and I had to go through my "stash". SO, you are not alone. LOL!

I am starting to become envious of the snow. Wish it really snowed here in Cali!

HA! I love your thrifty husband! I sometimes borrow/take those little peanut butters and give them to my kids at school during snack. They are really popular!
It's looking like winter running is getting pretty expensive up there your way; THE MASK(at least $40, right?), special shoe things, a treadmill, arctic polar jacket, layers underneath...no wonder your hubby is stealing(oops, I mean taking what is HIS) the shampoo, lotion, etc. Very smart man!
Wait, what's that about hockey practice for kids at 5:45???!!! a.m.?????

I heard the midwest was getting dumped on. While you go running, lots of my friends are waxing their skies getting ready for another season of cross country ski racing.

I travel a lot and collect most of the shampoo's/soaps/etc. My guest bathroom is overloaded right now! I can't believe there is that much snow already. I don't envy you at all.

Too funny about all the toiletries! I get it! Wow! You have a lot of snow.

Everybody gets those little shampoos and conditioners! So how did you manage without conditioner? My hair is like a mop if I don't use a lot of it. I am actually jealous you have snow! But, after seeing those conditions, I am glad you have a treadmill!

LOL...hilarious...your back-up shampoo/conditioner/lotion collection.

We haven't had our snow yet..but it's coming and when it does...we'll be ready. I've tried a friends yak-tracks but found the following solution better (didn't shift as much):

Nice work on the snowy run and the snow angel.

recently had to throw away the "little shampoo/conditioner" freebies that my Mom insists on taking and storing at her beach house, but they were OLD and she still can part with them. Ha ha!

ok I admit it, I take the coffee packets but I do use them quickly.

That weather is brutal. We had 70 degrees @ 5:15 pm tonight at the track with 100% humidity. Sticky and warm. Think I'm gonna have to stick with our humidity over the snow.

I sympathize with your shampoo/conditioner struggle! I always run out of conditioner too early, and end up going a few days without (since I get to town once a week or so and it's 5bucks for the cheap stuff at the ELkton Cash Market. :P I would be carting the hotel stuff home too! Brother in law brings home the coffee packs and mini ketchup bottles :)

You crack me up with that snow angel! Such a kid!! We are so wimpy here compared to you all...no hotdish no yak trax...lol

I'm more in the need of waterproof shoes more than traction, because there is nothing better than post-holing on a snowy run!

I could be running a side business if I took all the shampoo/soaps from my hotel life this year/last year lol. I do have some though... They come in handy for traveling AND the maids were always throwing away my half-used ones so therefore it is totally fine to take them as a gift... Haha.

Hi Jenn,
We are supposed to get hit today and tomorrow! It sucks because we are driving to St. Cloud:(

Great pictures of a very snowy black snowman:)

I accidentaly washed my hair with baby oil when I was a teenager!! OMG!!! Terrible....it took days for my hair to go back to normal:)

Happy Thanksgiving Jenn!
