I have not seen my husband in a week. He walked in the door today to me getting off the treadmill wearing flourescent yellow shoes, black and red shorts, a light blue sportsbra and an orange bandana! Wow-was I lookin' good!! I would post a pic but I wouldn't want to scare anyone!
Joe decided to do a P90X video within about 15 minutes of coming in the door. This was totally OK with me because we understand each other when it comes to making time for working out. Here is where we differ! When I'm sweaty and gross the last thing I want to do is touch someone else! Why is it when Joe is done working out, he always feels the need to try to hug and kiss me and wipe his sweat all over me. Somehow, I think he thinks this should be some sort of turn-on-like I'm super attracted to sweaty stinky men??? So not working for me!!!
Anyway, here are my weekend happenings:
Max ended up having a friend sleepover on Friday night. I was one of 6 girls and I'm still getting used to the crazy boy thing! I have to say I love the fact that there is not nearly the drama with boys! Yell, punch, push, YES but drama NO!
We got up early Saturday morning to head to Grand Forks with Ryan for hockey. Max's little buddy's sister is on Ryan's team so he came with us. Ryan also had two teammates riding with us. We shipped Reese off to meet Joe in Fargo/Moorhead for her tournament. Ryan's team won their game 7-0. Ryan had two AAA coaches watching her play this game and she was extended an invitation afterwards to play on an elite team that would play 4 major international tournaments. Tournament #1-Boston Marathon weekend!! Now, I know I do a lot for my kids and I can argue myself to death about the fact that I deserve things for myself but at the same time I carry a ton of guilt about the fact that I am going to turn down this opportunity for her to do something for me. (In my defense, we may have turned it down anyway as I'm not sure we want her playing hockey all year round.) Joe said not to even tell her and she would be fine. I hate these kind of situations. I can't win.... Anyway, as if the doctor ordered, the phone rang today and she was invited to play on the MN Selects North team in a tournament at the end of March! We can make this one and I said "Yes" which made me feel better!
I've really got to stop this rambling all the time and get to the point which is running! After my super long treadmill run I was thoroughly content to take Saturday off from any exercise! Too bad I was so busy I couldn't really relish in it!! It's been said that running is 80% physical, 20% mental. I'm thinkin' it's closer to 50/50 for me. I felt great about pulling off the 20 on Friday and it totally inspired me. I felt very confident in my run today and went progressively faster finishing 10 with my final 3 @ 6:31. A few months ago it would have taken me way longer than one day to recover fully from a 20 mile run. I honestly felt no effects of that run and my legs felt strong and refreshed from the day off-not to say I wasn't expended in this run though! I did a good home weight workout tonight so the legs will likely feel like crap in the morning!
After I got home from my 20 and yes I posed next to my basement garbage can!
I can't believe tomorrow is Monday and I have to go back to work! I need an off off day!! I am back to my morning schedule and will get up and do my 8 at 5:00 am. So far, I have only completed one day of my Boston plan doing what it told me to do! I love to be a rebel!!
Have a great Monday! I'll be catchin' up tomorrow!

You look so cute and coordinated in your workout gear!!
The sleep over picture is totally cute, I miss those days! I remember a great 20 mile run that I had in December and it kept me confident right up until my marathon last week. It's amazing how powerful a good, long run can be! Great job and good luck with your runs this week!
hot momma!
Great pictures!
So happy it worked out for your daughter!
Dad Wonder tries to hug me, too, when he finished working out - ewww! Sweaty lips and arms!
Hoo Hoo, awesome 10 miler! Wow! I wonder what you'd do in a half now, probably sub 1:30! Keep it up!
You are a running God! Awesome 10 miler!
Hi Jenn,
Your first paragraph made me laugh! I have been there...wearing a really attractive running outfit and sweating when the hubby comes home:) I loved the pictures..dang I wish my legs were as toned as yours! Jenn, I hope that you have a great week!!
Yes, with 3 boys and plenty of friends with girls, the difference in drama is amazing! I think I am happy with all boys! Yes, your pace is amazing...30 miles in a couple days...pretty darn good!
I can sooo relate to the hubbs and the sweaty kisses! I am married to a very "kissy" husband who know no boundries when he is sweaty and gross!
Your workout outfit sounds like most of mine when I am at home or out on the road! I only "attempt" to match for races and the gym :)
Glad it worked out for Ryan and you...I can't imagine how hard it can be to make big decisions for your little ones - but you guys are doing great!
Awesome job on the 10 miler, too! I often find now that my recovery time is much better. I have just started wearing my heart monitor and can see first hand how quick my recovery time is. All this hard work is paying off! Good work girly!
You look fantastic and ready to rock it. My hubby always wants to hug me after coming home from the gym - ewww.
You look awesome in the pictures! I think it is hilarious about your husband trying to kiss on your after a workout, I do the same to my husband and he hates it!!!
I love the garbage can for added decor! :). You are one tough woman there. I feel myself getting stronger but I still take the day off from a long run and go hit the pool or bike. You always inspire me - along with make me laugh. Happy Monday!!
Wow. Another busy weekend! Congrats to your daughter on her great playing! For what it's worth, I think you and your husband made the right decision.
I'm convinced guys think it's funny to give hugs when they're all sweaty and their wife/gf is not. My husband does it too!!
Looks like you have a rockin' basement!
Hi Jenn,
I just read your comment having to do with my possible move. You had mentioned that you were also possibly thinking of relocating for work. Where out east are you talking about? Thanks for your thoughts...I appreciate them:) You are such a good blogger friend!!!
Great pics and a smokin' fast run! Awesome!
ohh yes, we females are quite dramatic! i owe my parents big time for putting up with me and my shenanigans :)
it must be a male thing... my fiance always wants to hug me after a run. then he makes fun of my grossed-out face and tells me i'm mean for not hugging him. uhhh you're all sweaty and gross!
Congrats to Ryan with the Hockey..did I ever mention that my hubby planned for our kids to play hockey before they were even born, lol? Way to go on the 20 miler...awesome that your recovery time is getting shorter, that means you are getting stronger! The boys and their sleepover pic is too cute!
Cute pictures!
You are going to rock Boston! My husband will not come near me when I am sweaty, unless it is at the end of a marathon.
