New treadmill record and shoutouts!

20 miles/ 2:39:48/7:59 pace
Holy crap, I can't believe I did this and neither can the girl working the desk at the gym! I'm glad it's over but it went fantastic and I felt great! I actually had 18 on the plan but once I was at 18, 20 sounded so much better! I realized with just over a mile to go that I could finish under 2:40 which I knew was an 8 minute mile so I gunned it and floated in at 7:59! I cannot tell you how great I feel right now. Granted this was done on a treadmill with no wind resistance, I think the fact that I was constantly changing the incline up to 4.5 and the monotony in general of running on a treadmill equal out to running outside. I also think I went into this run much better prepared than last week. I paid extra attention to what I ate the last two days and I also took a Gu and drank Heed throughout the run. (I got this Gu roctane in a race bag-blueberry pomegranate- It is the worst tasting thing ever. I could hardly get it down but it did help!) I really felt like I had a LOT left in the tank after this run so I'm hoping its a sign of good things to come!

Other news:
Funny story! I had two little boys over to play this afternoon. I was sitting on a chair in the kitchen with my legs crossed reading the paper when this little guy comes up to me and says "My dad said you shouldn't sit like that. It'll give you puffy veins!" I thought this was sooo funny! He was dead serious!

I spent the morning internet shopping and came up with these "must haves" to go with my new virtual boots and yes, that is exactly what I would look like from behind in them! Umm-not so much!!

Also, Katie, I'm quite certain the salt cravings are not a result of pregnancy..lol! In that case my cravings would include hard liquor and anti-depressants!!

Katie and Aron are both running a muddy trail half marathon tomorrow! This sounds like a blast and I wish we had something like that up here. I bet they both do awesome and have a great time in the process. Good luck girls and don't get those cute new shoes dirty, Katie!!

Hope you all have a great weekend. I'm off for hockey once again! Another dry hotel room with uncomfortable beds-Woohoo!!

OMG --- you are awesome!!! I would've gone insane, but you've inspired me to give a 20 miler on the TM a try if this weather in Wisconsin doesn't pick up soon. YOU ARE A ROCK STAR!!!

Talk about a super speedy 20 miler ... and on the treadmill? You are a rockstar!

That's amazing and in my book is even tougher than a 20 miler outside. Oh, and I feel the same about the Roctane, will stick to the regular Gu!

Wow 20, fast and felt great in the same sentence with treadmill?? That is amazing! You totally rock!
Are those CK jeans? If so I just bought them (at Costco, I know I'm so chic!) but they're going back cuz there's a huge gap in the back.
have a great weekend!

Wowzie, 20 on the treadmill and at an incredible pace!! You rock! I did 18 last year before Boston and I had to keep changing every button on the treadmill just to keep my sanity, but there's something to be said about having all your "stuff" there you need and not have to carry it all with you, which is what I'm about to do right now (ugh). I love those jeans - who makes them? Have a great weekend, and don't sit cross legged or you'll get puffy legs!! :)

Oh Hudsons, say no more! No sign of those at Costco (as if) although they do have Sevens so never say never I guess.

Looking forward to your RR -- a piece of cake after 20 on the dreadmill.

Great job! I did 20 on the treadmill a few months ago...while I wanted to kill myself, at least I walked away telling myself that it built mental toughness!!

You did 20 miles on a TREADMILL?? Holy crap woman! Great job and NICE pace! I get so bored on those things, I think the longest that I've ever done was a 10 miler. Rock on girl!

Girl! How did you do it? My max is 5 maybe 6. You are definitely mentally tough, tough. Great mental training, but I have to skip that training technique. Congrats!

I always knew that women had a higher tolerance to pain than men. 20 miles on a treamill proves it!

If I could run 20 in under 4 hours, I'd be happy to do it on the treadmill. :-) Way to go! That's hilarious about the veins...my daughter was sitting like that the other day and I made her uncross her legs.
