Quick weekend update!

Just got back from my weekend trip and I will be catching up on blog reading this evening and tomorrow! Anxious to read some race reports to hopefully inspire me throughout the week. I did not run at all this weekend. As a matter of fact all I did was eat, drink, and watch hockey games. Ickk!! I feel like a slug right now. Truthfully, I had good intentions but it was below zero both mornings and the dive hotel we were staying in had NO fitness center!!! I did have a great weekend though. I went with my 9 year old to watch her first hockey tournament of the year. They won the tournament and Reese had 7 goals and 8 assists in 3 games!!! She also won the second game for her team in an overtime shootout! I thought her face was going to crack from smiling when they presented the medals! It was so fun to have a weekend with her! It was also fun that my two best friends also have daughters the same age and they were flying solo as well-a great big girls weekend!!! My daughter Ryan was with my husband and they also won their tournament beating 3 of the top ten teams in the state of Minnesota!

I have to work all week, the weather forecast is terrible and Joe is working out of town meaning I get to do ALL the running around by myself. I will be starting my training plan next week for Boston so I think I will be taking this week pretty easy. I plan to get up and run 8 on the treadmill tomorrow morning simply because I feel nasty from not exercising all weekend and it will start my week in the right direction. I will be traveling again next weekend with my daughter Ryan but staying in a much nicer hotel so hopefully I can get a longer run in regardless of weather.

Congrats to Aron and her BQ! Also, to all others who raced this weekend! I better go catch up on reading....

Congrats as well to your girls and you as well. I know why the athletes on TV always say "I love you Mom" before they say anything else.

I am new to your blog. I am a runner, originally from MN, now live in Canada (married a hockey player). Have three kids (ages 1,3 and 5) baby girl is named Reese! My boys are just starting hockey, so I anticipate many days in the rink ahead. Just trained for Boston 2009 in one of the worst CDN winters since I have lived here. I look forward to following how your training is going for Boston! I am not sure if you have run it before, but it was an unbelievable time! Good luck with the training...I think the nasty weather helped me, I came away with a PR. All the best!

That's great about your daughters!! Yea!! I'm treadmill bound also this week - it's currently a balmy 5 degrees right now. ugh. I had to laugh at the White Witch suggestion for my web name. Hahah. A friend of mine concurred. Figures. Stay warm!!

I can't believe Boston training is starting already. I can't get my head in the came until the end of January but it'll be fun following your beginning stages! Hope your week clears up!

I can't imagine running in the kind of temps you get. Grateful for the TM!
