White stuff, hotdish revisited, and hotness at the gym!!

So-we are definitely having a white Christmas around here. I love it!! I've only been in the ditch once this winter thusfar so this is a major bonus! I've also only been pulled over 2 times which is also a major bonus. Both times I was reminded by Mr. Friendly that the roads are ICY and 30 mph means 30 mph not 55 mph(I have a history with the local police as apparently my brain is always thinking about going FAST).

We had our Christmas program for the kids at Church on Sunday night. Max was supposed to be a sheep but had MAJOR issues with wearing his sheep mask. Really not into it....Reese sang in this little trio and then ran down from the stage and puked on the church carpet. Turns out she caught the plague from me and was SICK! We laid Reese on the couch in the church library and attempted the potluck afterwards(which TOTALLY freaks me out) HOTDISH EVERYWHERE!!! I just cannot do potluck. My plate usually ends up with a Rice Krispie treat and 14 pickles. My kids however think this is like the "Golden Corral"! After dumping his plate on the floor TWICE in the line, Max proceeded to eat about 5 pounds of food. He is SEVEN! I have never seen anything like it. He EATS more than my husband! It's actually quite fascinating to think of where all this food goes in a little 55 pound body.

Anyway.....

Because of the snow and the rural area that we live in, running outside is going to be difficult for the next while. I can handle the cold, I actually LIKE the cold but no paths and unplowed roads make anything more than an easy run impossible at times. We do have an indoor track (I think it is about 125m or so) which is worse than the treadmill in my opinion but I may use it sometimes. I'm also moving some of my running to the afternoons or evenings(when I work) as it is a little warmer and I like the streetlights and snow-Very Christmasy!! Some nights I can make this work during the kids' practice and I will have to capitalize on that. I ran outside last night but it was COLD. The temp was 15 degrees which is totally doable but the wind was gusting from the east up to 20 mph. Not the most enjoyable of runs but just an easy 8 miles on the docket so no stress of a pace. Speed day today so it'll be on the treadmill. I have this 400/800/1200 superset workout planned and I've never done this before. I wonder if I could read any more running books lately....Random....

I got the BEST music from my "gym boyfriend". He somehow got me this list of top music remixed a little faster and all blended. I LOVE it! My husband coined the "gym boyfriend" term-all in fun! Apparently, I talk about this guy quite a bit because he's a physical therapist and SUPER fit and I've learned quite a bit from him. Joe is totally not the jealous type but after I got the music on Monday, he decided to come to the gym WITH me this morning-ha ha!! He said I could go by myself if I wore my Gopher pants(even he won't touch me in those-ha)!! We are big kidders around here obviously (he went solely to work out). I've been scouting out a "gym girlfriend" for him! Just to clarify, throw me on a desert island with some naked firemen and you'll find me on a lawnchair reading a running magazine.....not interested...

I am almost set in my race plans for next year. I have quite a few things lined up actually. I will be posting that sometime in the near future. Still up in the air with a fall marathon. Both marathons I've run have been on not particularly "fast" courses. This will be my major goal race of the year and it would be fun to run something touted as a "fast". Look at me taking the easy way out in search of a PR-Wuss!! Anyway, we'll see.

I'm multitasking and going through pictures attempting to make a family Christmas card. I've said 3 swear words under my breath because I CANNOT get this picture I was going to post uploaded. I hate my INTERNET!!!!! It had nothing to do with the family Christmas card, I just smiled at the picture.

OK-off to run this puke-inducing workout and then hopefully some time to relax and drink coffee while reading all your blogs!!! Happy Tuesday!

OOhhhh, I want the music list from the Gym BF too!
Which makes me think that maybe I just want a Gym BF of my own? But so far all the boys at my Gym are hairy, sweatpanted and decidedly smelly. No thank you. Nothing worth making the Huz jealous about.
Too bad your kid had a Code V at the Christmas Pageant. Very poor timing, especially what with all the delicious hotdish!

This is the third time I've heard someone refer to 'hotdish'. Is that something in a crock pot? A specific recipe? Enquiring minds want to know.

I'm sure you meant I was the "hotdish" - you know, after seeing my picture on Lindsay's blog today! :)

It is brown here and no prospects for a white Christmas. I'm ok with that, really. I was up running the trails to Pikes Peak today and it was just freaking awesome!!

Gym boyfriend?? I want one!!!!!!!

Are you doing Grandma's Marathon, by chance?????????? Please say yes!

My husband and I are the same, always teasing each other about hot boys and girls. Fun, but really...I still think he is the hottest out there (don't tell him).
Hope you reached the puking treshhold in your speed workout today:)

Heh. Tell your daughter I puked in church once too, when I was in middle school. Very embarassing..but all the old men and ladies handed me hankies. There were a million! Really, a hankie for vomit?! That seems so wierd. I guess they were just looking for the right hankie need.

Fall marathon...Isn't NYC on the list? Not anymore...I can't remember...How far are you willing to travel?

Run safely! Watch out for snowplows and freakish drivers. =D

I'm with you on this one -- I hate the treadmill, and I hate the indoor tracks. Even though I'm visiting Arizona right now, I spend most of the winter battling what Michigan has to dish out. It's fun to run around in the snow and have passerbys look at you like you're nuts. There's nothing like outdoor running in the winter!
