Large Gophers and my Bloggy Gift!!!

So-I'm so far behind on commenting here that I almost feel guilty even posting! Forgive me people, for I have been a bad blogger friend lately....As soon as I get those 4 extra hours a day that I asked for for Christmas, I will NEVER miss commenting on a post-I promise!!!

Anyway, I am feeling WAY better today. The plague of death has passed! My boss greeted me on Thursday with a huge smile on his face. His words, "if you want to take a sick day, just take a sick day, you don't have to fake it!" (If you missed the last post, I really WAS sick) I LOVE my boss! Honestly, he is a SUPER boss. In fact, 2 years ago our office celebrated 20 years. The office closed, all the employees were told to be ready at their homes in the morning and we would be picked up for a surprise adventure. We ended up heading out of town, getting dropped off at a Mall with an envelope of CASH (A LOT of cash) and told we had exactly one hour to spend all the money. Only glitch was we had to turn in our receipts to prove we had not bought anything for ANYONE other than ourselves. If we did, it would be confiscated! Now, is that a super awesome boss or what! This is why I am currently forgoing my private college education to work as a part time dental assistant (which is not remotely in my career field.)

I know you were all wondering how cute I look when I head to town to mail a package in my Gopher pants. Honestly, the fact that I look like I weigh at least 400 pounds is worth the comfort of these pants!!! My son took this wonderful picture! OK-just to clarify, contrary to the image displayed, I do NOT weigh 400 pounds....Wow-it just loaded as I was typing-I can't believe I posted that....well-it got the cookie out of my hand anyway...

ANYWAY... on to the reason I am posting in the first place!!!! I got my Blogger Gift Exchange package in the mail today!! Woohooo!! I am like a kid in a candy store with packages. LOVE THEM. Anyway, this was super exciting! Irene from Magazine Smiles sent me THIS!! AWESOME gift! A custom made Christmas CD which will come in super handy since I am forcing my kids to listen to Christmas music LOUDLY every morning during breakfast! Also, scented socks!! Seriously, who created this wonderful invention?! I will admit I got a lot of stares as I was driving through town with these socks held up to my nose sniffing away. Add the awesome smelling lotion and I might just have to sleep upside down in my bed so my husband can have my feet in his face instead of my head!! I am also inspired to take the nail polish off that I've had on since July....Thankyou SO much Irene. I LOVE it! Best of all, I wasn't even familiar with her blog and now I have another EXCITING blog to follow!!!!!!!

To the running. I hit the treadmill today because of..imagine this.... SNOW AND WIND!! I know, almost never happens around here. Anyway, it was a pretty good run. 13.1 miles/1:39:58 and yes I had to almost fall off the end of the treadmill in the last mile to get under 1:40 which suddenly became my goal with one mile to go. I am so ADD when it comes to the treadmill. I actually don't mind it that much but I just can't run a steady pace-way too monotonous. I end up playing little games and making all these little changes usually in 1/4 or 1/2 mile intervals. Today, I started the run thinking I would run about 7 easy miles. At mile 5 (40:13) I made a change. Decided to run .25 miles in this little sequence repeating every mile.(8.0 mph/2.0 incline, 8.1mph/1.5%, 8.2 mph/1.5%, 8.3mph/1%.) Seemed to be a good little game for today. Honestly, there is very little difference between 2 and 1.5 incline but it's just so darn exciting to press the button!!!! Easily entertained I say!!

So, one last pic of my little Reese's Pieces before her school program! She is such a sweetie.

Hope you all have a wonderful night!! I'm forgoing the Gopher pants for jeans and heels for a night out with my gal pals! Off early in the morning for another traveling weekend of hockey. Should spend merely 8 hours in the car tomorrow! Oh the life...but it's mine and I love it!

YAY, your gift came!!! Love all the cool things Irene gave you. Love Irene, her and I have been bloggie buds for a very long time and I thought you'd enjoy her. She's lucky enough to live in San Diego so maybe one day you and I can go invade her - maybe like February when we have had more than we need of winter?!?! :)

Ok, so why are you just getting faster and faster and cuter (is that a word?) and I just continue to be slow and fumpy. Awk!!! Ok, you make me wanna be a better me. Time to stop whining, Jillie!!

So glad you are feeling better (sorry I missed your post, but I went back and read).

Happy weekend, girlie!!!

Sooooo, are you making up your own boston plan or have you chosen to follow one? I'm so curious to see what you all do for your training. I want to learn learn learn!

Your daughter is gorgeous!!

It took all the mental fortitude I had to manage 5 miles on the TM today. But it went well! That's almost a PR pace you did :) . I would try the 1.5, 2 thing, but unfortunately my TM only has up and down and no indication of how much. Ha! There is no downhill on it. ..too bad :)

The pants rock! I had some pink flannel PJs that had monkey faces on them for a while. I wore them until they were shredded. Gophers are a little harder to find, I think! Glad you feel better.

I need to meet your boss!!

Your daughter is the cutest thing!

So impressed by your treadmill work... just wow!

okay, I'm officially an idiot...I was just in the shower thinking about running and running plans and realized I asked you about your Boston plans and I know that you are not running Boston in 11 so I don't know why I asked that. Sorry...I really do pay attention. ;)

umm. you don't look like you weigh 400 lbs. pick the cookie back up. you still look like you weigh 88 lbs soaking wet :)

and you look cuter in your pj's than i ever do going out in my sweats. maybe it's the fact that you put a little effort into your hair and makeup? that could be it lindsay... quit being so lazy.

I'm super glad you received the gift! Those socks also have Shea butter in them. I don't know how they do that, but they're extra soft! I'm glad you liked everything and I had fun putting it together. Now I must add you to my "follow" list. :) Happy Holidays!

PS:
Nice pants!
