Sick Stressful Awkward Laughter!

So I woke up this morning feeling less than stellar. I thought maybe it would pass so I scrambled around the house getting the kids ready for school and getting ready for work while taking "sit" breaks every couple of minutes. These "sit" breaks weren't cutting it and eventually I was laying with my cheek on the ceramic tile of the bathroom floor lifting my head enough to dry heave for about 2 hours. (I almost asked my daughter to get the camera for proof) Anyway, I still feel weak but WAY better. Not sure if I have the flu or ate something wierd. To top this off, I called in sick for work (which I NEVER do). This afternoon, since I was feeling at least human, I drove to the post office to mail my Blog Buddy Gift, and bumped into my boss's wife mailing a package. HELLO-she is supposed to be working and the office is 30 minutes away! What is she doing at the Post Office!!! Can we say SUPER AWKWARD. Fortunately, I looked like HELL, wearing a running hat, my daughter's Uggs and GINORMOUS fleece pajama pants with Gophers all over them. I think she may have believed I was sick......On the other hand, I don't put a great deal of time into my appearance for work, this look could be familiar to her.....

Anyway.....Looks like I'm not running today which is supposed to be the general theme of the week. I did run 5 miles on Monday but took yesterday off and now today. I was looking forward to this cutback week before I start really training next week but it is actually not as relaxing as I would have hoped. I feel like I'm on edge and even more stressed than usual. I love to b*tch and moan at times, specifically to my husband (poor sucker really hit the jackpot) about how I'm supposed to get everything done including working out (my choice). Bottom line though, I just can't really relax taking breaks.......I think I want a break, then I stress about taking the break, then I usually don't end up taking the break, then I'm mad that I didn't take the break.....I just want to ENJOY the break!!! The psychosis of this slightly schizophrenic runner, it is stressful at times to do it, but more stressful not to.....I do understand the benefits of a cutback both physically and mentally for me so I'm sticking to it. Hopefully, Monday I will be refreshed and rarin' to go!!

On a happier note thanks to Q on the Move Joe and I were entertained for like an HOUR last night. He posted a video yesterday which totally made me DIE laughing and so Joe and I acted our age and sat at the computer looking up Youtube videos for far too long last night. Yes, all the kids in bed, a rare evening for us to be home together and what do we do, look up videos! *A good marriage includes LOTS of laughter in which we have NO shortage of around here*

*Disclaimer* If you post a funny video on Youtube it is an unwritten rule that people will laugh at your expense. This is not bullying, it is simply good quality entertainment!! This video was my fave especially the finger heart!

great visual of you at the post office. Why didn't you take a picture for us?! So sorry you've felt yucky. Thanks for your comment and for your believe in me! Hoping to read some good running books over the next many weeks...and hoping they inspire me and teach me lots!

Thanks for the vids. Hope you find a way to enjoy your break. I totally know how that is. I'm not so happy without my exercise and nothing really does the same thing as running!

Sorry to hear. I hate being sick. Hopefully you have a cool boss. Some bosses might not like that. Of course, it would be different if you saw her at the movies or something fun like that.

That sick bit sounds horrible. I have to say I always worry I am going to run into someone if I have called in sick. Once I was at the drug store and picking up the prescription for pink eye and I had someone question me. Teachers are supposed to be home in bed or in school!

so, aside from being sick, i feel like you stole a page out of my diary this week. i thought i'd take sunday off to prepare for this, my first offical week of training. and now...i haven't run since last friday. i thought things would be more calm this week....i always forget how ridiculous finals week is for teachers. i am super stressed to not be out running or exercising at all for that matter. there is so much tension built up that i need to find an outlet for....soon!

hope the rest of the week is better for you!

Damn.
You take it easy.
If you were actually wearing a running hat, your daughter's Uggs and GINORMOUS fleece pajama pants with Gophers all over them…things must REALLY be bad.
Like… bad like my skating.

Take this time to chill and watch funny You Tube videos.
Did you see the one with his surprise guest appearance?:

That video made my day!!! I am so sorry you are sick....I turn into a beast when I can't work out. You know you are a blogger when you want your daughter to get the camera when you are over the toilet. You should have taken a picture of the hat, gopher and ugg outfit. That would have been extremely awkward!
