Friday Night Fun!

Just for fun! (And also because I'm wired and my kids are sleeping-wired not weird, also weird but in this case wired....)

I know from my last post that many of you are envious of me and where I have chosen to reside! If you are wondering whether Northern Minnesota may be the perfect relocation spot for you, I've compiled a pretty standard top 10 list of necessary resident requirements! (These are all for real by the way-not necessarily for me because I'm so cultured, but for most-ha!)

Top ten reasons you might belong in Northern Minnesota

1.) You’ve bought Sushi from the Schwan’s man...

2.) Your beverage of choice is Pabst Blue Ribbon or White Zinfandel...

3.) Everyone eats “hotdish” for supper...

4.) You actually know what Potato sausage is...

5.) You can find both Tae Bo and Kathy Ireland’s workout videos on VHS at the downtown hardware store...

6.) You get a letter home from school stating that your children will not be playing outdoors for recess if the temperature dips below -15 degrees F...

7.) You have no less than 8 hockey decals on the windows of your 4 wheel drive gas guzzling SUV...

8.) You are picked up for a “hot” dinner date on a snowmobile...

9.) A “hot” dinner date takes place at the local Dairy Queen...

And Last but definitely not Least

10.) You have to rely on blog friends for inspiration because NO one else runs here in the winter!!!!

Thanks guys! Have a Great Weekend

BAHAHAHA!! Loved the top ten reasons. Nothing wrong with a little date to the DQ. -15 degrees, that is ridiculous. Running in normal weather must feel so easy for you. Woman you are my idol for running in that. What exactly is 'hot dish?'

LOL!!!! I am about to write a blog post about running in "weather" and I now realize that I know nothing!

I'm impressed you have a Schwan truck - that's kinda big time, girl!! :)

Great list! So u really don't see any other runners in the winter?? Wow. I need to learn more about Minnesota, last week Ryan and I were talking about states and I made a bet with him that I could rattle off all 50 states of the top of my head and then I could label a blank map without making any mistakes. :-( I could only come up with 49, took about 15 minutes but I eventually came up with Minnesota. Then when I filled in the map I switched Wisconsin and minnesota. I need to learn more about your state!!!

I want to know what "hot dish" is too. I think that you are worse off than I am in the weather department. (which makes me feel better for myself, bad for you...)
We have a Schwan truck that drives by every day so I'm with you on that one. Ahhh, the middle of nowhere, it's a lonely place!

yeah what is a "hot dish"? i would not survive in MN. certainly not at your size - i would not-run b/c i needed to save my "insulation"! :)

I still can't wrap my brain around sushi from the Schwann's man. Does it come in a variety pack with the chicken nuggets and sliders?

Great list, and yes I have no clue what potatoe sausage is. I can't even spell potato.

I certainly need some translations...and not bc English is my second language:)
Must be really hard to motivate yourself to go out and run in the winter, since noone else is there running. Now I see why you opt for treadmill running sometimes, I would, too!

Ha ha! Sushi, sliders, nuggets combo pack! They all pretty much taste the same when they come from the Schwan man anyway!

Please define...
hotdish
potato sausage
-15 degrees
And...did you ever think that by YOU running during the cold winter, WE are inspired?
Girl, I wake up and it's raining and I think, "HEY, Jenn is probably running in the snow with her freaky mask on today. GET THE HECK OUT THERE, NOW!"
thanks

Great post! You Minnesotians are tough. Our kids stay in if it is less than zero degrees!

OK- I totally had to check some spelling in that last post.

Hotdish?

Girl, you are TOUGH! It must be all those rock pile hills and -15 runs. I did single digits last year and was momentarily concerned that I might get frostbite on my toes. Does that ever happen? How many pairs of socks do you wear at once, and does that change your shoe size?
Sadly- I can relate to the hardware store video rental thing. Thank goodness for netflix! I have about 7 Tae Bo videos that I found handy while rehabbing last winter. Forgot how great a workout Billy Blanks and Shelly give in the floor work portion ;) !

Aparently I do not belong in Northern Minnesota. What s this "hockey" you speak of?

the most confusing part of the list is this mysterious "hot dish" of which you speak....

meanwhile i would love nothing more than to get picked up on a snowmobile to go to dairy queen :)

i am going to need that same inspiration from you to get through the snow-filled winters of michigan.
