Bragging and Shout Outs!!

Two parent teacher conferences down, one to go! Thank God for smart self-sufficient kids! No school today so we're all hangin' in our pajamas! This time of year the days get checked off the calendar like a training plan for us. My oldest daughter has hockey practice every day and soo many games. She is the youngest kid on a team who is projected to contend for a state championship. I'm just a teensy bit proud of her!!
My middle daughter also has quite a few games and tournaments! She is 9 years old-I full out raced her down and back on the ice yesterday and she beat me by almost half the ice. Unbelievable! My son is 6 and will start his 4th year of hockey on Monday. He can raise the puck over the plexi-glass. I can't even lift it off the ice. They are all their father's children. Since it is socially unacceptable to brag about your kids to real people (AKA other team members parents) I decided to play proud mama on here this morning!! Seriously, they are really good kids and what I'm most proud of is their desire to always be better!

My Girls!

I've had a pretty good running week for the most part. The weather has been so warm for this time of year allowing me to do almost all of my running outside.

Sunday 18.76 @8:17-this was a run of 2 halves. The first half-Good, the second half-Not so good! I'm having a hard time slowing my pace at the beginning of runs lately and paying for it later. I also felt really tired and my legs were still a bit dead from the hills at my half.

Monday-off/ I am currently doing a pushup/pullup/sit up routine that lasts around 20 minutes every day.

Tuesday-5 miles on the treadmill @ 7:33. / 20 min core workout

Wednesday- 10 miles outside in shorts in November @ 7:55. /20 min. core workout

Thursday - 10 miles- 4 mile warmup outside about 8:45 pace. Too windy so I did 8X800m on the treadmill @ 3:15 with 400m recoveries. These are sooo much easier than they used to be. 20 Minute core workout and 45 minutes skating for fun!

Friday - I plan on running 4 easy miles today and biking my 12 mile loop./ 20 minute core workout

Saturday- 14 miles which will be my weekend long run. I have the annual fabulous classy wine/cheese tasting party at night and if it is like years past, I will most definitely not be running on Sunday :)

This is a few more miles than I really planned on running but I feel like I want to take advantage of the nice weather. I love being outside when it's nice!!

Once again, I hope I don't miss anyone!!

Steph @ www.50marathonchallenge.blogspot.com is running a 6 hour ultra in Warwick Rhode Island. This looks like a really cool race and I'm sure she'll do great even though she just ran a marathon last weekend. CRAZY!

Jill @ www.runwithjill.blogspot.com is running the Wildcat Mountain 1/2 marathon. She knocked out some killer intervals this week. I bet she does awesome!

TMB @ www.racingwithbabes.blogspot.com is running the Richmond Marathon. This girl has some serious determination running through pregnancies, illness, and a bad toe that I desperately hope holds out for her. I think she'll rock it!

Tim @ www.blog@262quest.com is running his first marathon Chickamauga Battlefield after making a drastic body transformation. I'm wishing him the best of luck. He just PR'ed in the half and is on track for a great race!

Morgan @ www.cautionredheadrunning.blogspot.com is running the Founders Day 10K. I love this blog and it makes me laugh all the time. She is going to do great and I love her attitude!

Good luck to all others running this weekend!!

Jenn - Thanks so much for the shout out! That totally makes my day. Now if I could only harness the speed of your last long run and I would be unstoppable!

Sounds like you had a great week and are raising some pretty talented athletes. Obviously, it runs in the family!

You can always brag to us about your kids! Your girls are so CUTE! What a great combination: Smart, cute, and can knock your teeth out with a speeding hockey puck!

I agree with the above comments... you are FAST! :)

I too am loving the warmer weather here. I am sure any day now this is going to change quickly and I will find myself running in the 20's and teens.... still much better than those living up north!

Thanks for the Shout out! made me smile. I am really excited about my marathon tomorrow.... people are probably getting sick of hearing about it :)

Very cute kiddo's - and don't feel guilty, it's your blog and it's fun to hear about them.
I totally have to work on keeping it slow in the beginning...I end up also bonking out in later miles which is no good!
Have a great day off and a fabulous weekend! :)

I hope the long run goes well and it's still nice enough to be outside.

I just read your goals for 2010. I am a list, program, and goals person too. I also like very technical runs. It keeps my mind of the actual running. Good Luck! See ya in Boston.

Oh my, you guys are busy this time of year! That's awesome that all of your kids are involved in sports! The athletics must run in the family! Now you have a place to brag all you want! =]

Jeez your a an amazingly fast runner! How long have you been running for Jenn?

Thanks for the shout out, but I failed...as in I failed to run the half (and got a C- on alternate run). Too much snow caused plans to change - and that's okay cuz the race was really just for a strong tempo run and not for any type of show. But I wow, thanks for thinking of me.

Thanks for sharing about your kiddos - they are awesome! You deserve to brag about 'em. And such cuties :).

Have a greaaaaat running week!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I can't wait to follow your adventures. I am from WI, so I admire your ability to train in the winter, but I am sure Boston will be worth it!
